Recycling and Material Use

Aluminium – A Driver for Circularity

Aluminium is one of the most recyclable materials on the planet, and at Metalcolor we make the most of its circular potential. Our approach focuses on minimizing waste, reusing materials, and sourcing responsibly.

How We Recycle

  • Production Scrap: All aluminium scrap from our coating and finishing processes is collected and returned to our local scrap partner. Nothing usable goes to landfill.
  • Recycling Loops: Recycled aluminium can be used repeatedly without loss of quality, reducing both energy use and raw material demand.

Responsible Material Sourcing

  • Aluminium Supplier Standards: We work only with EU suppliers, including verified recycled content. On average we source 80% recycled aluminium.
  • Minimising transport impact: We coordinate deliveries, and material flows to reduce emissions associated with raw materials and our products.

Measurable Progress

Since its beginnings, Metalcolor made following achievements though efforts in recycling and responsible sourcing:

  • 80% of aluminium used in production comes from recycled sources
  • Establishment of a software to optimize the paint consumption and reduce waste

Why It Matters

Recycling aluminium is not only efficient — it’s essential for reducing our environmental impact. Every tonne of recycled aluminium saves up to 95% of the energy required to produce primary aluminium, directly supporting our CO₂ neutrality commitment for 2050.
